Screening for Plagiarism Policy
JA: Jurnal Aequitas is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published articles are free from plagiarism. Therefore, all submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening before entering the review process.
1. Screening Process
All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools.
2. Similarity Threshold
The journal sets a maximum similarity index of 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will:
- Be rejected, or
- Be returned to the authors for revision
3. Types of Plagiarism
The following forms of plagiarism are strictly prohibited:
- Direct copying without proper citation
- Paraphrasing without clear attribution
- Use of others’ ideas, data, or findings without acknowledgment
- Self-plagiarism (republishing one's own work without proper citation)
4. Actions for Violations
If plagiarism is detected:
- At the initial stage: the manuscript will be rejected or returned for revision
- After publication: the article may be retracted and the author may face sanctions according to journal policies
